Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Ait Bouguemez Valley – Village Walk

Salaam Alaikum, and welcome to the High Atlas! After an early departure from Marrakech, settle in for a scenic drive over the Tizi n’Tirghist pass, watching the landscape shift from red plains to rugged mountain peaks and terraced valleys. By the time you roll into Ait Bouguemez — nicknamed the “Happy Valley” by locals — you’ll understand why. Green fields, mud-brick kasbahs and walnut groves unfold beneath towering peaks. Check into your guesthouse, then take a gentle stroll through the nearest village as the afternoon light turns golden. Locals will likely wave you over for a glass of sweet mint tea — say yes. Dinner tonight is a home-cooked Berber tagine, shared with your hosts under a sky full of stars.

Lace up your boots for a full day of walking through the heart of the valley. The trail winds past terraced barley fields, apple orchards and centuries-old irrigation channels that still water the land exactly as they did generations ago.
